Bugatti 57

Here’s the last thing some poor slob would have seen before being squished by a rich guy in a Bugatti.  A Bugatti Type 57.  An extremely rare Bugatti Type 57.  Great Art taken at Greenfield Village and part of my famous Machinery series.  No poor slobs were harmed in the making of this Great Art.

Greetings from Detroit!  I haven’t posted since we got here, and LRN4 and I are technically sitting the airport waiting area, ready to leave, but we’re still in Detroit!

Had a great time.  We saw my mother, father, brother, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, four nieces, two nephews-in-law, and two great-nieces.  We stayed at my sister’s house for three nights, my mother’s and other sister’s house for three nights, and my dad’s house for one night.  We visited the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, and the Detroit Zoo.  We ate WAY too much, took a bit of Great Art, and chatted a whole bunch.  We didn’t work.  The flights here (we changed planes in Phoenix) were right on time and comfortable, and we have high hopes for the flights back (Phoenix plane-change again).  We believe the house didn’t burn down or get carried away by thieves, since I was able to connect to my server there.

So it was pretty much the perfect vacation.  On the only negative side, it was FREEZING cold and rainy for the first few days, and then BURNING hot and humid for the next couple of days.  Yesterday and today, however, were pretty much perfect – sunny and temperatures in the high 70’s and low 80’s, and fairly dry.

We had pretty much everybody in the family at LRN8’s house on Memorial Day.  Lots of fun.  We didn’t do much besides eat and talk, but that was enough.

— Later —

Just got home.  The trip was smooth, the ride was comfortable, the parking people arrived promptly and charged the right amount, the car was in perfect condition, and the house was unmolested.  Perfect.  It’s nice to be back.  I’ve decided to take another vacation day tomorrow – that’s how nice it is to be back.

Nothing much else to report, so I’ll leave my Loyal Readers with this shocking food violence news: McNugget road rage!

See you tomorrow.
