Here’s a rich guy’s outdoor fireplace. At least it used to belong to a rich guy. He’s dead now. The fireplace – and the house it’s attached to – now belong to a county park. They use it as a conference center or something like that. It looks like it was truly beautiful back when the rich guy owned it. Great Art taken during our August camping trip. Part of my famous Camping series.
Normal work Friday. I came home a little early, so we had time to jacuzzify this evening. It’s about 9:30 now and I’m already exhausted. Time for bed.
The weekend isn’t very well planned at this point. It turns out LRN6 isn’t coming for LRN12 tomorrow. We don’t know when he’ll be here at this point. So we have LRN12 with us for the foreseeable future, I guess. Need to start treating it like it’s permanent. We’re really enjoying her.
Anyway, the pool filters really need cleaning badly, so I’ll get that done. Also have lots of other things that could be cleaned up and/or put away and/or thrown away. Need to get to a few of them.
The food violence crime wave continues. Today’s heinousness: chicken robbery.
See you on Monday.

Here’s an organ technician waving his hands giving a lecture last Saturday in the organ loft of a church in Modesto. It was really interesting – for the first hour or so, anyway. I’m glad we went. Great Art courtesy of the famous iPhone cam.
Little to discuss today. Worked. LRN5 came over this evening to visit LRN12, who was very appreciative. Nothing else to speak of.
LRN4 got us ticket to go to a King Tut exhibition at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. We’re going on November 13 and looking forward to it.
Thanks to LRN1 for noting my punctuation omission in yesterday’s blog. I’ve decided to leave it there as a memorial to what can go wrong when you’re all worked up over Great Toilet Art.
I’m sad to have to report an outbreak of bacon violence. Will the food violence never end? Can’t all the meats just get along?
See you tomorrow.

Here’s LRN12 with her blankie, watching Dora. Or possibly Spongebob. Or maybe Cinderella. Or the Aristocats. Or something else appropriate. Her tastes are eclectic. Great Art courtesy of the exclusive iPhone-cam.
It’s getting late, so this will be short. Had a good day. Worked, etc. Fulfilling day. And relaxing evening. I’ve been trying to help LRN2 get his wireless card working right, which it doesn’t seem to be doing. I’m thinking it might be the actual USB connector on it, but he’s not so sure. In any case, it may be time for another new card. Sigh (for him).
There’s some exciting toilet news today – they’re making them into Great Art! I’m thinking of a similar installation in our back yard. Maybe draining into the pool Wouldn’t that be nice?

Here’s our cruise ship hiding behind a tree in Haines. And this is a momentous event because . . . it’s the last cruise picture! The Loyal Crowd goes wild.
Quiet day at work. Quiet day at home. LRN12 didn’t sleep again last night and she didn’t nap today, so we’re hoping she’s exhausted enough tonight to sleep. Time will tell. It’s shortly after 9:00 right now, and she’s currently sleeping peacefully.
So there’s nothing to mention.
Other than today’s food violence news – chili sauce attack! Makes you want to wear goggles to the street fair, no?
See you tomorrow.

Here’s Ketchikan’s waterfront shanty town. In fact, this particular shanty town isn’t just a waterfront shanty town, it’s a waterborne shanty town. Don’t see too many of those around. As seen on these pages at least once before.
No posts after Monday last week. It was a tough week for me and I didn’t have the heart for it. It’s good to be back. Thanks to so many Loyal Readers who asked.
Fortunately, absolutely nothing happened in the past week. LRN12 is still with us, which is nice. She’s looking forward to getting back with her Dad, though.
Speaking of LRN6, he got a new job today! He’s with Frito-Lay, starting in a week or two. I’m not sure exactly what he’ll be doing, but I think it involves loading outgoing trucks chock-full of chips and dips. I wonder if he’ll get an employee discount. Could save a lot of money. Good luck on the new job, LRN6!
Work continues to go reasonably well. There’s lots to do and we’re struggling a little to get our next release done. But it’ll get there. Eventually.
LRN1’s missionary papers are in (we hope) and we expect him to receive a mission call either this Wednesday or the Wednesday of next week. We’re starting to feel a little anxious to know where he’ll be going. I imagine he’s a bit curious too.
Even though the blog has been on hiatus, that doesn’t mean I’ve been ignoring the food violence and toilet news of the world. Oh, no indeed. In fact, I have received word of a horrifying outbreak of meatball crime. Let’s keep our forks to ourselves.
All’s well. See you tomorrow.
