Rock hole
Here’s a rock with a hole in it. Talk about your great art! I’m sure my astute Loyal Readers can identify exactly where this rock is currently located.
Average day at work. It took two hours to get there and two hours to get back. I worked like a dog – lots of things piled up during my two days off. My big project is moving forward smartly. The good thing is that it means continued employment for a few of my people. The bad thing is that it means tons of work for me, and a lot of responsibility for things I can’t control.
The Loyal Mother and Loyal Reader Number Four are out at book group this evening. Let’s hope they bring home some dessert.
I’m working on plans to change the operating systems on my two Linux boxes. Moe would get FreeNAS and Larry would get Ubuntu Server. I’m hoping Moe would speed up drastically and Larry would have much less overhead as it serves its websites. I’ll have to start slow and build up to it, but it won’t be overly hard.
Not much of interest today, huh? Oh, here’s something: I bought a copy of The 20-Minute Gardener for 25 cents at a library book sale on Saturday. Started reading it on vacation. Opinion so far: it’s worth way more than 25 cents. It tells its story in an entertaining, amusing way. My only complaint so far (I’m 62 pages into it) is that, while they start out very early with their basic principles, they’re taking their time developing them. Still, it’s fun and I’m hopeful. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
I also spent a quarter on a book on the history of the California state parks. Haven’t even cracked it open yet. That probably shouldn’t keep me from writing a review, but I’ll put it off anyway.
And that’s it for tonight. See you tomorrow.
